Abuja, Nigeria – Green Energy Mission Africa (GEM Africa), in partnership with Sustainable Solutions for Green Growth (SSforGG) and with support from the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), is thrilled to unveil “YouthVolt Africa: Accelerating Energy Transition and Access.” This visionary project represents a dynamic partnership aimed at empowering African youth to lead the charge in the transition to clean and accessible energy solutions, propelling the continent towards a sustainable and prosperous future.

The launch of “YouthVolt Africa” marks a significant milestone in the journey towards a greener and healthier Africa. This initiative is the embodiment of the shared vision and commitment of these esteemed organizations, with a special mention to Mr. Abubakar Shuiabu, the Founder of Green Energy Mission Africa, whose dedication to sustainable development has been instrumental in driving this transformative project forward.

Mr. Abubakar Shuiabu, Founder of Green Energy Mission Africa, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating: “The collaboration between GEM Africa, SSforGG, and support from RMI demonstrates the power of partnerships in driving positive change. ‘YouthVolt Africa’ represents an opportunity to empower our youth, the future leaders of our continent, with the knowledge and resources they need to be at the forefront of Africa’s energy transition.”

Azeez Abubakar, Founder and Executive Director of Sustainable Solutions for Green Growth, shared his perspective on the project, saying: “The ‘YouthVolt Africa’ initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to green growth and sustainable development. By empowering young Africans to lead in the energy transition, we are fostering a future where environmental responsibility and economic prosperity go hand in hand.”

“YouthVolt Africa” is a comprehensive initiative designed to empower African youth by fostering inclusion in decision-making processes, raising awareness about sustainable energy practices, supporting young entrepreneurs in the renewable energy sector, facilitating collaboration, and advocating for policies that align with sustainable development goals.

The project includes the establishment of the African Youth Energy Transition Forum (AYETF), a vital platform for meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange among African youths, government officials, industry experts, and academia. AYETF aims to catalyze energy transition efforts while empowering young Africans to take leadership roles in shaping Africa’s energy landscape.

“We are proud to collaborate with Sustainable Solutions for Green Growth and RMI on this transformative project,” said Abubakar Shuiabu. “Our combined expertise and dedication to sustainable development will drive ‘YouthVolt Africa’ towards a brighter, cleaner future for Africa.”

“YouthVolt Africa” is poised to accelerate the energy transition, empower youth leaders, accelerate job creation for African youths, promote cross-sector collaboration, and influence policy changes that support renewable energy adoption across the continent. By fostering innovation, knowledge-sharing, and capacity-building, the project is set to make a significant contribution to Africa’s journey towards a sustainable and cleaner future.

Green Energy Mission Africa and Sustainable Solutions for Green Growth  invite organizations, stakeholders, and supporters to join them in this transformative journey to empower African youth and accelerate the energy transition. Solar energy information before you install.

“It’s important you choose a certified installation company because they will be able to advise you on all regulations.” It’s best to talk to a few installers and get their estimates. Most of them will give you an idea of costs over the phone before arranging a survey on your home.

Ask them how long the work will take as well as what the warranty and/or guarantee for their work is. If any guarantees are insurance-backed this will help you avoid any surprises later.

Solar energy battery storage electric and more.

Given that solar panels can only produce power when the sun is shining, storing produced but unused energy throughout the day for use at a later time has become increasingly important. For instance, solar batteries store electricity and can be drawn on during periods of low solar production. Electric vehicles are a second product poised to ride the wave of solar energy adoption. With lower maintenance costs, lower fuel costs, and a lower environmental footprint than traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

“Solar panels don’t create any noise pollution while generating electricity. This means that installations aren’t intrusive.”
Neil Borton

When it comes to installing solar panels and switching to a more eco-friendly energy source, there’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. There are several factors worth considering to help determine if your home or business is a good candidate for solar.

“If you have solar panels, you can use battery storage technology and save the excess for later.” Our battery storage solution, Power vault 3, allows you to do just that. Now that you know the basics about solar energy, you can marvel at how today’s photovoltaic technology can capture the vast power of the sun to operate a home. It may not be rocket science—but it definitely is human ingenuity at its best.
